So, you have a product or service that is the same or very similar to your competitor down the street. Possibly you have a product that has little to no competition but it just doesn’t seem to excite people! You realize early on that customers are not going to OOOH or AAAH over your product or beat down your door!

If you have a business that manufactures storage boxes, it’s a little difficult to get people excited about your product. After all, most people believe a box is a box, so what’s the big deal?

That’s where you come into play. You need to find out what is so unique or special about your boxes vs your competitor’s. You have to develop a selling plan that will attract customers to your door instead of your rival’s.

By developing a unique selling plan, you will make your product stand out from the crowd. Ask yourself what is so unique about your boxes? Is it the materials used to manufacture them or possibly it’s your superior customer service? Is it your variety of boxes and their flexibility or a delivery time that is unsurpassed?
When separating yourself from the crowd, you can persuade people that your boxes are better than anyone else’s for a number of reasons.
Customers are looking for products or services that stand out and entice them into making a decision very quickly. By standing out from the crowd, consumers will realise your boxes and services are exceptional.

Your selling plan should point out the benefits of purchasing your boxes over someone else’s. Show why your competitors can not provide the same quality in materials or high-end service that you are offering them. You have to convince consumers that you have something very special for them.

What If Your Service Is The Same As Your Competitor?

Now you are scratching your head, your boxes are exactly the same size and quality as your competitor. Your competitor also has excellent service and shipping time. Now what?

Look for something within your industry that everyone does, but no one ever talks about! Every industry has similarities in the manufacturing, processing, or delivery that is commonplace but never mentioned.

Consumers know boxes are processed on an assembly line but when they come off the assembly line, individuals inspect the boxes before they are shipped out. Ok, everyone does that, but no one talks about it!

Take advantage of it, talk about it!

“Once our boxes come off the assembly line, they are hand selected by our professional employees to ensure every box has been manufactured to perfection.”

Whether your product is unique or commonplace, you need to develop a selling plan the will entice customers to take a closer look and decide to purchase your product or service instead of your competitors.
